EXCURSION IN SIRACUSA

Departure at 7:00. (Starts from Cefalu ‘and in case of reservation information will be provided for the exact departure point). I arrived in Siracusa for several centuries, the most powerful city in the world known in antiquity, which Cicero described as “the greatest and most beautiful of all Greek cities”.

Syracuse has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2005. Visit of Ortigia and its historic center, with the Cathedral of Santa Maria delle Colonne, built around an ancient Greek temple in Athens. Inside you can still see the ancient columns of the temple.

You can also visit the Fonte Aretusa: a freshwater spring near the sea. In the afternoon, encounter with the local guide and guided tour of the Neapolis Archaeological Area: the Roman Amphitheater, the Iberon II Ara and the caves dug in the rock like the “Ear of Dionysus” and the tomb of Archimede.

Return to the second half of the afternoon.
